St. Croix State Park, MN Canoe and Kayak Day Trips

Whether you’re a hard-core paddler looking to put on some serious miles, or just a floater looking to put in some serious relaxing, we have the trip for you.

Trips range in length from one to four hours through the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. Float times are approximate.

State Park Hours:

Saturdays:

-2 hour Sand Creek Landing Trip: Walk-ins are welcome anytime between 10:15 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays, or leave a message with reservation details.

-4 hour Thayers Landing Trip: Sign up (walk-in) at 9:30 a.m., or leave a message with reservation details. The Thayers shuttle leaves at 10:00 a.m. each Saturday.

Sundays:
Trips are available on Sundays, but require an appointment in advance. Please call and leave a message with reservation details.

Weekdays & Customized Trips:
Weekday hours vary. Please call the Danbury office at 715-656-7881 if interested in a weekday trip or a customized trip.

Canoes & Kayaks to Go:
$40 per day (no transportation provided).

Shuttle Service Only:
Shuttle service using your own equipment will be provided at $10.00 less than the corresponding price for the rental and shuttle of our equipment on the identical trip.

Due to State Park regulations tubing is not allowed within the Park.
Tubing is available at our Danbury location just 15 minutes east of the park! More information is available under the 'Tubing' tab at the top of the website.

Camping trips include two days and one night.

All trips may be extended at the rate of $40.00 per additional day and night.

Cost Breakdown

   The rates listed above for combined rental/shuttle trips include a discounted equipment rental and in-park handling fee of $30/day/canoe or $20/day/kayak; plus an out-of-park transportation fee. The out-of-park transportation fee entitles user to transportation from our office to the river (at the designated starting point) and from the river (at the designated ending point) back to our office. Out-of-park transportation rates vary, and are determined by the number of boats moved, and the landings which are being utilized. Additional fees may be assessed if the agreed upon landings and pick-up times are changed.
   The rates listed above for shuttle of privately owned equipment include an in-park handling fee of $10/canoe, $5/kayak, or $2/tube; plus  an out-of-park transportation fee. The out-of-park transportation fee entitles user to transportation from our office to the river (at the designated starting point) and from the river (at the designated ending point) back to our office. Out-of-park transportation rates vary, and are determined by the number of boats moved, and the landings which are being utilized.
